7 Days / 6 Nights Flores Overland Tour (From Labuan Bajo to Ende/Maumere)

Distance: ±100 km | Driving: ~5 hours | Trekking: ~3 hours (9 km)
Pick-up at your hotel in Labuan Bajo. Drive through scenic landscapes and local villages towards Denge. From here, begin your trek through lush forests to reach the traditional highland village of Wae Rebo, located at 1,200 meters above sea level.
Arrive at Wae Rebo in the afternoon, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by the Manggarai people. Experience the unique cone-shaped traditional houses (Mbaru Niang) and the serene mountain atmosphere. Overnight stay in a traditional communal house.

Distance: ±70 km | Driving: ~3.5 hours
After breakfast, spend more time exploring Wae Rebo and interacting with locals before trekking back down to Denge. Drive towards Ruteng, stopping at Cancar village to see the famous Lodok spider-web rice fields, a spectacular cultural heritage of the Manggarai tribe. Overnight at hotel in Ruteng.

Distance: ±135 km | Driving: ~5 hours
Depart Ruteng and head to Bajawa. Along the way, visit Liang Bua Cave, the archaeological site where the remains of Homo Floresiensis (the “hobbit”) were discovered. Continue to Lake Ranamese, a beautiful volcanic crater lake, before stopping at Aimere to see the traditional distillation process of local palm wine (arak). Arrival in Bajawa, check in at your hotel.

Distance: ±70 km | Driving: ~3 hours
Morning visit to Bena Village, one of the most famous megalithic traditional villages in Flores. Then, continue to So’a Hot Springs for a natural bath before driving through scenic landscapes to reach the coastal town of Riung. Overnight at hotel in Riung.

Today is a full-day boat trip exploring the 17 Islands Marine Park. Highlights include:

• Kalong Island to witness thousands of flying foxes emerging from the mangroves.
• Snorkeling at Bako/Tembang Reef and visiting pristine beaches on Tiga Island and Rutong Island.
  Return to Riung in the afternoon and overnight at your hotel.

After breakfast, start the long scenic drive to Moni village. Stop at Blue Stone Beach (Pantai Panggajawa), famous for its naturally blue pebbles. Visit Wologai Village, home to the Lio tribe and their traditional houses. Continue to Moni and check in at your accommodation near Mount Kelimutu.

Moni to Ende: ±50 km (~1.5 hours) | Moni to Maumere: ±100 km (~3 hours)
Wake up early (around 4:00 AM) for the drive and short hike to the summit of Mount Kelimutu. Witness the magical sunrise over the legendary Kelimutu Three Colored Lakes, a natural wonder that changes colors due to volcanic activity. After enjoying the view, return to Moni for breakfast. Continue your trip to Ende or Maumere, where you’ll be dropped at your hotel or the airport for your next journey.
